PART uses the Yellow Rose as a symbol of our Friendship with those Texans with mental retardation and their families. It is our desire to partner with these individuals to help advocate for a full range of services to meet each indivudual's particular need[s].

PART is a volunteer organization, founded in 1974, comprised of families, guardians and friends of people with mental retardation. We have no paid staff and are dedicated to securing, maintaining, and improving services for Texans with all levels of mental retardation. PART is concerned with the quality of life for people with mental retardation, and we intend to serve as a catalyst to ensure that a full range of services and a full continuum of living arrangements are available to every Texas with mental retardation.

PART is a member of the Voice of the Retarded [VOR], a national organization that supports a complete array of services including State Supported Living Centers and Community Care.

PART has no association with any other Texas advocacy organization for the mentally retarded, and PART does not employ a lobbyist.

PART is a 501[c][3] Non-Profit. Donations are tax deductible.

PART is registered with the State of Texas.
