PART Fall Meeting in Austin PART's Fall Meeting will be held on Friday/Saturday, October 24 & 25 at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in North Austin/Pflugerville. Please plan to attend this very important meeting and become informed about many issues that will come before the 2009 Legislative Session. Call or Visit YOUR State Senator and State Representative NOW is a good time of the year to visit with members of the Texas Legislature because they are not "In-Session" at this time. If you wait until the Session starts in January 2009, their time is limited. We urge everyone to talk about the State School or the service your family member is receiving and let them know how that individual benefits from the type of care he/she receives. It is important that they hear directly from the Stakeholders -- that means YOU -- on how the services are working. The legislators often hear negative reports from the Advocacy groups who do not support State Schools for people with mental retardation. You are urged to take a photo of your loved one to show them and also let them know how much you appreciate the care your family member receives. PART Membership Dues Please pay membership dues -- $10.00 per
person -- NOW! Membership runs from July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009.
